WHO WE ARE
WHO WE ARE
At Cord 3 Outfitters, we believe in the importance of growing community through shared adventures. Catching fish, enjoying time outdoors, developing new friendships, and deepening existing ones, while making lifelong memories.
Our business name comes from a book in the Old Testament: Ecclesiastes, Chapter 4 verses 9-12. “two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though you might be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.“

We believe that doing life in community helps us to be stronger. Our gifts and talents working towards a common goal make us better and reminds us to be thankful.

Shane Williams
Guide
Hey everyone, my name is Shane Williams and I grew up hunting and fishing in Douglas, Wyoming. My grandpa introduced me to fishing at a very young age and it didn’t take long to stick. We would bring our fishing gear on every trip we took, just in case. When I was about 12 he gave me my first fly rod. The rest they say is history. It took me quite a few years to decide to try and make fly fishing my life. But in that time frame I went to college, traveled as well as worked a lot, and became a sponsored rock climber. I was convinced by a guide buddy to go to a guide school and see if it was something I liked. So in 2016 I enrolled in the Sweetwater Travel Schools guide program and never looked back. I’ve guided mostly just in Wyoming on the North Platte and the Big Horn rivers, but my fishing travels have taken me all over the western United States and up into Alaska as well. Guiding for me is about the laughs and smiles, people out enjoying themselves and either learning something new or advancing their knowledge of the sport. In my free time you can typically catch me out floating different sections of river with friends or out fishing by myself. In the winter you’ll find me bumping chairs and tying flies at a ski resort in the Bighorn Mountains. Let’s go put some fish on the end of your line and make some memories!
